It may be easier to untie your tie by pulling the thin end of the tie through the knot, but it will also ruin the shape of the tie over time. Try to remove your tie using the reverse steps of how you tied it.

Storing ties couldn't be simply, just let them hang. This means creases and folds simply fall out which they can't when stuffed in a drawer, rolled up or hung over a chair.

Should you get a stain on your tie, try to act quickly. Dab or blot the stain with tepid water. A greasy stain can be treated with a small amount of talcum powder, which absorbs the grease and can then be wiped off later. There is always the good old dry cleaner, but make sure they don't press the tie as it will flatten the edges and ruin the ties shape.
